schoolfield stars

The atmosphere of my children's school sports day was compelling. Each scream of support and delight hung in the air in a tangible and musical lilt for us all to help ourselves to. I did help myself and felt giddy with it's optimism, genuine love and wonderful humour! Run Shadog run! The sweet Welsh chime lifting the atmosphere further. I tried to capture it all with my camera snapping the running, the skipping the jumping, but gave up and left it still while I screamed RUN SHADOG RUN!!!!

So what is up with this Welsh phrase? I'm from Welsh heritage but that's about where my knowledge of anything Welsh ends. ;)

aaahhh... shadog is a place in Carmathenshire where we live. The school divide the kids into 4 and shadog is red and all my kids are in shadog. Well unfortunately my knowledge is not great either, my kids speak Welsh but I don't, I had six months of lessons and was ready to start banging my head against a wall when my hubby ordered me to take a break :) For the good of the family lol... It did help me read their reading books with them as the alphabet is very different to ours.
